Our Story

father and daughter 2

LiveLoveLau foundation, Inc. was founded by Stephanie Lau.  In 2004 during Labor Day weekend Stephanie received a call that her father had been in an accident. She spent the next 3 or 4 days by the side of her father who had several brain surgeries and who would soon leave this life.

Stephanie’s father had been riding horses on a regular weekend ride when bikers road by and spooked the horse (a young horse, whom her father was training). Her father was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on a rock upon falling. Ultimately causing his passing.

Stephanie was in college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and was financially dependent on her father for tuition. She did not have any family or scholarship support upon her father’s death. She did not know what to do but to get a job and fund her own college, thus creating many challenges in the process of grieving and hindering her from graduating college.

Stephanie practiced in performing arts; studying dance, voice, and musical theater since she was 5 years of age. This helped her tremendously through her grieving process. Today, she practices yoga, pilates, cycling, and swims. Keeping active aided in keeping her happy and to sustain her mental clarity. Thus, LiveLoveLau encourages an active lifestyle and healthy living through it’s benefits.

This organization is dedicated to her father and to helping assist other bereaved children with the financial burden that may arise with college tuition.
